Hello from Prep C

Prep C has had a fabulous start to Term 4!

This past week we have been reading a beautiful book called Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge. We have been exploring how memories are made and making text connections with the book by recalling some of our own memories. The students all loved bringing in items from home that reminded them of a happy memory and enjoyed sharing this with their friends during our weekly Big Talk.

In Maths, we have started learning about division. We even read “When the doorbell rang” and the main characters had to keep sharing their yummy cookies with the new visitors every time the doorbell rang. The Preps thought this was hilarious.  The students have been so excited to demonstrate how they can share objects equally. Another fun activity for Maths was going outside on a scavenger hunt to find all the hidden shapes in the playgroup and around the school. The students were able to find many 2D and 3D shapes that they play on every day.

The highlight of the week was on Wednesday when the Preps went on their excursion and saw Pevan and Sarah at the Frankston Arts Centre. It was an amazing experience and all of the students were very engaged as they danced and sang along with Pevan and Sarah. The students even mailed their letters they had carefully written using their fabulous sounding out skills to Pevan and Sarah. The students wrote some fabulous recounts sharing their favourite experiences from the show, some have been included.
