Dear Parents/Guardians,

Sympathy

This week we were notified of the passing of a past parent and school councillor - John Wilson. John sat on our Council from 2001-2008. On behalf of the school community I would like to extend our heartfelt thoughts and sympathy to John's immediate and extended  family.

School Closed

A reminder that the school will be closed on Monday November 4th and Tuesday November 5th for the pupil free day and the Melbourne Cup  holiday.  Next Wednesday will be the first school day of week 5. Our next Pupil free day for your diary is Monday 25th of November.

Each year schools are granted pupil free days and a Professional Practice Day by the Department. These dates may change each year depending on the needs of the school and must be approved by School Council.

News playground

Our student action team and school council have recently been looking through plans and deciding on the design of our new playground. The images below capture the structure which will replace the old one in the sandpit area. We are using Active Schools funding to help support the cost of this.

Supervision before and after school

Another friendly reminder to families to please ensure students are not arriving before 8.40am. Student safety at RPS is our highest priority and the safe and appropriate supervision of students is an important element of our duty of care to students. Part of this duty is ensuring parents and students are aware of our student supervision arrangements before and after school.

• Before school: School grounds are supervised at 8.40am.

• After school: School grounds are supervised until 3.35pm.

Students on school grounds outside these times will not be supervised (unless they are attending the before or after school care program or a supervised extra-curricular activity

Leaving us?

If any families are intending to leave our school community and won’t be returning in 2025 because of relocation or other reason, could you please advise us as soon as possible.

Parent Opinion Survey Results

We would like to thank the parents that completed the annual Parent Opinion Survey. We recently received the results, and we are very happy with the feedback. Please note that we always welcome and embrace feedback from community members.
