Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) exams

We have been advised of dates for the upcoming AMEB exams:

• Friday 25 October – Low Strings (Double Bass/Cello)
• Monday 28 October – Woodwind (Bassoon, Oboe & Clarinet)
• Wednesday 30 October – Woodwind (Clarinet & Tenor Sax)
• Wednesday 13 November – Brass (Euphonium, Trombone, Trumpet)
• Thursday 14 November – Woodwind (Flute)

Students participating in the exams have been notified and parents will be notified closer to the exam dates.  All exams will be held in the Founders’ Complex at Mazenod.

We are asking for students to arrive 20 – 30 minutes prior to their exam time to set up and warm up for their exam.

Jazz Band Tryouts

Tryouts took place in week 2. Students will be notified shortly.

Auditions

Auditions for our Quartets will take place on Wednesday 6th November.  More information and sign up details will be posted on MazCom.

Ensembles and Orchestras 

Ensembles have re-commenced. Remember to check the timetable for days and times.

Please arrive promptly to the rehearsals.  If you are not sure what ensemble you are in, please speak to your Instrumental Music Teacher.

Timetables

Term 4 timetables are now on MazCom.  Please remind your son to check MazCom on a regular basis so that they are following the most recent timetable.

Instrumental Music Fees

Semester 2 fees have been issued.

If you are yet to finalise your Semester 1 fees, please do this as a matter of urgency. Unpaid music fees may result in cancellation of lessons.  Fees can be paid online via Bpoint or over the phone with our Finance Team.

Reminder: if your son wishes to discontinue his lessons, 8 weeks’ notice must be given and any outstanding fees must be finalised.

Please be aware of the following cut-off dates:

11 October to cease lessons at the end of the school year (preferred)

1 February 2025 final cut-off date prior to automatic re-enrolment for Term 1, 2025
