Thank you to everyone who came along to our Grandparents Day today. It was a huge success with so many community members attending. Thank you to Bree Nietvelt and 5/6N for organising this event. The scones were delicious. 

Congratulations Miles

Congratulations to Miles who represented SHNPS today at the State Schools Victoria Track and Field Championships. 13th in the state is a huge effort at just 9 years old, well done!

Well done Ivy

Congratulations to Ivy Duran for her remarkable writing piece, Ocean's Essence, which was shortlisted in the recent Young Writer's Awards! She was presented at a ceremony at the library on Wednesday 30th October.  Her piece was original and a standout in her level.

Book Packs\Parent Payment policy

Just a reminder that our Payment policy will be sent home soon to all families. 

This will include student book packs for 2025. Payment will be due around late November/December again this year. 

We aim to keep the costs very similar to last year. The cost last year was around $230 including book lists and specialist contributions. 

We will be offering materials to be purchased through Campion online like last year. We have confirmed that the School Saving Bonus can be used for your Book Pack. 

School Saving Bonus

As shared with you previously, parents and carers of every child enrolled in a Victorian government school in 2025 will receive the one-off School Saving Bonus $400 support.

In the coming months, the Department of Education will send you 2 email communications for each of your children enrolled in Victorian government schools.

By Friday 18 October 2024, please ensure that your child’s 2025 enrolment is completed and that your contact information is up to date.

The 2 emails from the Department of Education will:

1. Confirm your email address between mid-October and late November.

2. Provide you with your unique $400 School Saving Bonus code by the end of November.

If you do not receive a confirmation email from the department by late November, please check your spam or junk folders and contact Belinda in the office.

3/4 Camp 

Thank you to all of our staff who attended the 3/4 camp. From talking with the students, they had an amazing time away. 

Curriculum Days

Whilst students had pupil free days around the Melbourne Cup public holiday, staff were at school involved in Professional Learning on reading and student behaviour. Both days we were engaged in high quality professional learning. 

Term 4 Curriculum Days 

Our Curriculum Day dates for Term 4 are:

Friday Nov 22nd 

Dec 18th – This is the Professional Practice Day staff are entitled to which is being held on a common day. 

Morning Drop Off

Just a reminder that our yard is not supervised until 8.30 am. Please ensure students do not get dropped off before 8.30 am. The OSHC program at St Mary's has vacancies for families who need this service of a morning. 

2025 Enrolments

  If you know any families who are looking at enrolling at SHNPS, please encourage them to make a time and visit our school. We invite prospective families to tour the school during learning time to showcase the great learning we do here at SHNPS.
