Catholic Identity   32nd Sunday of Ordinary Time

Lessons of Faith, Sacrifice, and Generosity

From Sunday's reading, we hear from three powerful passages that teach us about faith, sacrifice, and generosity.

Hebrews 9:24-28 explains how Jesus, as the ultimate high priest, offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. Unlike the priests in the temple who had to make sacrifices repeatedly, Jesus' sacrifice was once and for all, and He will return one day to bring salvation and make everything right.

Hebrews 9:24-28 explains how Jesus, as the ultimate high priest, offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. Unlike the priests in the temple who had to make sacrifices repeatedly, Jesus' sacrifice was for everyone, and He will return one day to bring salvation and make everything right.

In Mark 12:38-44, Jesus teaches a powerful lesson about giving. He warns against religious leaders who seek praise for their wealth and power, and He highlights the poor widow who gave just two small coins. Even though her gift was tiny, Jesus praised her because she gave all she had out of love for God, showing that God values the heart behind our actions more than how much we give. The lesson is that even small, selfless acts can have immense value in God's eyes.

Let Us Pray

              Dear God,

Thank You for loving us and teaching us how to trust You. Help us to have strong faith like the widow who trusted You with all she had. Teach us to be generous and kind, giving with a happy heart, just like Jesus showed us. Help us to be willing to sacrifice for others, knowing that You see and bless even the smallest acts of love. Please bless the St. Mary's School community, helping us to grow in faith, care for   one another, and serve with open hearts.

Thank You for always taking care of us.  In Jesus' name, Amen.
