Performing Arts

Foundation

This term in Performing Arts, Foundation students have been focusing on drama, storytelling and performance through a range of creative games and activities.

Students have been exploring the story of The Three Little Pigs through class discussions, movement and drama games. They explored the different characters and events from the story while practising how to use their voices, movement and imagination during performances.

As part of this unit, students created their own puppets, masks and story settings to help bring the story to life. Students then worked together in small groups to perform their own puppet shows for the class.

Throughout the term, students have also participated in a variety of fun drama activities and games including Freeze Games, charades, emotion statues, mirror games, movement challenges, “Do This, Do That” and animal drama games. These activities help students develop confidence, creativity, teamwork and performance skills.

Foundation students have also started learning and practising their concert dances and choreography for La Música Viajera. Students will continue working on their dances, drama activities and performances throughout the rest of the term.
