Our 'Home Away From Home'

On Monday we had the pleasure of welcoming all our new boarders for 2025 to Clayfield College. Seeing the fresh-faced Year 7 students and other years embarking on their boarding journey brought back so many memories of when we joined the school. The day was filled with excitement, as returning boarders and staff came together to ensure our newest members felt at home from the very start.

In the afternoon, we hosted the P&F Boarders' Welcome event which was an opportunity for parents, students and staff to connect in a relaxed and warm environment. This event provided a wonderful chance for families to meet the dedicated boarding and school staff, ask questions, and get to know one another before the start of the school year.

It was heartwarming to see new friendships forming and a strong sense of community already beginning to take shape. The event set a positive tone for the year ahead, ensuring that our new boarders and their families feel supported as they settle into life at Clayfield. Thank you to our P&F President, Ms Rae Morris, and the Engagement Team for running this event for us.

We, along with our fellow boarders, have returned from holidays to many exciting renovations in the Boarding House! These improvements will undoubtably have a positive impact on our boarding experience. The newly renovated bathrooms have been a very welcomed upgrade! Additionally, an outdoor walkway leading to the dining hall and courtyard has been refreshed, reducing traffic to other parts of the Boarding House. These upgrades not only improve the functionality of the boarding facilities but also help foster a more comfortable and welcoming environment, ensuring that all students feel at home - our goal for 2025 as Boarding Captains.

We also extend a huge thank you to Dr Cousins for our back-to-school gift of many new scents of body wash and shower steamers for our newly renovated bathrooms! We can't wait to enjoy them!

We are looking forward to our Boarder Orientation closed weekend commencing on Friday evening so we can connect with our new boarders and each other. Our weekend will end with an all-day outing to Wet n Wild with all boarding schools in South-East Queensland. This is the first of many outings and activities for the term.

Wishing you all a wonderful Term 1!
