WELCOME to 2025 BPS!

Hello to all of our returning students and families and a warm welcome to our new students and families. I don't know about you but I definitely feel that the holidays flew by very quickly! I trust the summer holidays brought some well deserved rest to each of you at some point, although as a parent I completely understand that holiday's can be super busy.

For those who don't know me, my name is Lisa Osborne and I have the privilege of being the Chaplain/Wellbeing Officer at BPS, providing pastoral care support for the whole community, including students, families and staff. I have 5 kids, 3 of whom are still at school, 2 of them are starting VCE this year and one in Yr 8. I'm married to Kirk and also have a fury friend called Archie, a 4yr old Cavoodle. I work at BPS 2 days a week and I am a midwife at The Mercy Hospital in birth suite 2 days a week.

Starting back at school can raise a lot of different emotions for students and families, particularly for our Foundation students who are entering a whole new world at BPS, but hang in there, we got you! We are going to stick together and power through this year like the wonderful community that we are. There are a number of ways that our school can support you and your family, including counselling, food/grocery hampers, referral to other support services, and many more. The best place to start is to talk to us and let us know of any challenges that you are facing. BPS is a wonderful and supportive community, you are not alone.

It has been so great visiting each of the classrooms over the last week and hearing about everyone's holidays. The kids and staff have been so enthusiastic and optimistic about 2025 and it is my hope that as we move through this year together that we can continue to show kindness, gratitude, patience and perseverance with each other. Please reach out anytime and please introduce yourself if you're new.

I hope you all have a wonderful start to the year.

Take care!
