Curriculum Focus in Performing Arts
Prep: Students have started learning the dance “The Sid Shuffle” from Ice Age. They have also been learning to play songs using three chords on the ukulele.
Year 1/2: Students have continued reading and playing popular songs using body percussion to start each lesson as well as working on a dance routine. They have been learning to play “Best day of my life” and “Wake me up” using three chords on the ukulele.
Grade 3/4: Students have started each lesson using body percussion to popular songs. They have learnt how to play G7 & G major chords on the ukulele. Students have been playing “Hound Dog” and “Shake it off” on the ukulele and marimba.
Grade 5/6: Students have continued learning about the role music plays in advertising. They have created a TV ad for the drink Fizzalot and learnt to play music used in advertising on the instruments including “We’re happy little vegemites” and “Havana.”
Music Clubs Performance Tuesday 17th Dec at 3.30pm
On Tuesday 17th December, the Williamstown Primary Choir, Marimba and Rock Band will be performing straight after school for the school community outside the library.
Please come along and support our music clubs as they showcase what they have learnt over the year.

Final Physical Education Curriculum Highlights – Term 4
As the school year comes to a close, students across all year levels are celebrating their progress and achievements in Physical Education. The final weeks of the term are focused on connection, fun, and reflecting on how far everyone has come.
Prep: Preps are finishing the year with activities that reinforce teamwork, balance, and coordination, enjoying games that highlight their progress and bring smiles all around.
Year 1 & 2: Students are wrapping up with creative and collaborative games that celebrate their teamwork and problem-solving skills, reflecting on the growth they’ve shown throughout the year.
Grade 3 & 4: Target games and inclusive activities are the focus, providing students with opportunities to apply their skills in fun and friendly competitions while fostering sportsmanship and enjoyment.
Grade 5/6: Senior students are concluding their PE journey with multi-sport activities and team-based games that highlight the leadership, collaboration, and sportsmanship they’ve developed over their time at Willy Primary.
Sports Update
2024 has been an incredible year for sport at Willy Primary! From interschool competitions to team successes and individual milestones, our students have shown resilience, dedication, and a love for physical activity. Every event, big or small, has contributed to making this a truly special year.
Thank you to all the students, families, and staff who have supported our sporting programs this year. Your enthusiasm and commitment have been the driving force behind our success. We wish everyone a safe and active summer break and look forward to another exciting year in 2025!
