A message from the Principal Team

Dear Armstrong Creek Community,

Another fortnight jam packed with activity and excitement! From zoo excursions and information nights to the Year 2 camp experience held here at school today, there is never a dull moment.

This term I have been privileged to work more closely with our teaching teams in their Professional Learning Community time. PLCs take place each week for all year levels and involves teachers working together to analyse student learning data, reflect on lessons taught and consider the next steps for instruction based on the needs of all students.

It never ceases to amaze me at how dedicated our staff is when it comes to discussing the learning of our students and exploring ways to enhance it further. Teams set high expectations of themselves and their students, working collaboratively to develop strategies and techniques designed to support and extend each and every learner.

With a big focus on Maths this year, all teams have been able to identify clear areas to focus their attention towards and the learning outcomes of our students as a result have been excellent.

Solving worded problems in Maths is one area that all teams Prep to Year 6 have recognised as having opportunity for further growth. And our students are relishing in the challenge!

As a family you might like to try your own simple ... or complex... worded maths problems at home.  Challenge your child and see just who is the Maths champion of the household!

Step into Prep - Prep transition 2026

This week we were thrilled to welcome our 2026 Prep students to Armstrong Creek School for the first of our optional Step Into Prep sessions running throughout Term 3. This year these sessions will highlight our wonderful specialist programs, with students and families engaging in Auslan, PE, and The Arts.

Our opening session had a fantastic turnout for Auslan, led by Janelle. Students learned an Acknowledgement of Country and explored the colours of the rainbow in Auslan. A wonderful start to their learning journey.

If your child is starting school in 2026, lives within the Armstrong Creek Zone, and you are yet to enrol, we encourage you to contact our friendly administration team. They will support you in beginning your child’s transition journey at Armstrong Creek School and ensure they can participate in the remaining Step Into Prep sessions as well as our formal transition program in Term 4.
