From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been lovely to have some beautiful sunny days this week. I hope the mid-term break over this weekend for the students gives them a chance to rest and recharge for the remaining 4 weeks of Term 3.
Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)
This week we have introduced a 'Zero Tolerance for Inappropriate Use of Hands, Feet and Bodies'. During a special assembly on Monday this was presented to the students, encouraging them to model the school values of being safe and respectful, maintaining high expectations of themselves and to take responsibility for their behaviour and the impact their behaviour has on others. Over the last few week staff have observed lots of minor behaviours that do not meet our expectations for 'Being Safe' and 'Being Respectful' - two of our core values. While in isolation these behaviours may have a minor impact, but when they are happening frequently, blur between minor and major or are not received as 'friendly or as part of play' are causing friction, agitation and conflict. We trust that with a focus on being safe and respectful, and consistent expectations our students will experience a more positive school environment.
School Closure Days - Friday 22nd and Monday 25th August
Just a reminder that next Friday 22nd and Monday 25th August are school closure days. Friday 22nd is a Time in Lieu day to acquit some of the time staff work outside of school hours attending meetings, school events and activities.
On Monday 25th August staff will engage in Professional Learning about cognitive science and maximising learning and analysing 2025 NAPLAN data.
School Events
Today was a wonderful celebration of literacy and the joy that literature brings to our lives. It was wonderful to have so many parents and families here for our parade.
There are some exciting school events coming up: Father's Day Breakfast and Stall, the PA trivia night and our celebration of learning, Canvas & Quill Festival on Wednesday 3rd September from 6pm to 8pm. It would be wonderful see as many families as possible supporting these events.
God Bless
Kathryn
