Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,
Last Saturday was the social occasion of the year - 'The St Anne's Trivia Night'- which was arranged by our Parents and Friends Group. My thanks to this group and to the Principal of St Joachim's, Mr Paul Dwyer, who graciously allowed us to use their hall due to ours currently being out of action. I have heard it was a fantastic night and the teachers were of course disappointed to get rolled into second place on the last round!! I am also very grateful to the many sponsors who supported the event with prizes for the Silent Auction.
Last week I attended the Australian Catholic Education Conference and it was a time of much learning. The theme was "Hope Anchored in Faith" and faith was the central message of the conference though workshops were around the themes of excellence, wellbeing, family engagement, governance and systemic growth. It was an opportunity to reflect on what has been achieved at St Anne's and across MACS in general through a variety of keynote speakers and also presentations from other dioceses. A very rich, and welcome, opportunity for learning.
Our Year 4 students will conclude their celebration of First Eucharist during the next fortnight of Parish Masses. We pray for, and congratulate, Austin F, Audrey M, Patrick G, Darcy , Haven M, Ben, Joseph, Will and Nathan.
Tomorrow our senior students play Mahogany Rise PS away as part of their sporting program. Next week we will play Seaford Park PS away. The students seem to be having a great time and playing well- win or lose!
Next Tuesday the Fathers' Day Stall will be open and my thanks to the parents who have organised and will run this. Our Year 5's will also be attending Monterey SC for a day based around World Traditional Games. We thank the school for this opportunity.
Next Wednesday is our annual Italian Day Celebration. We thank Signora Morina and the
P & F for their organisation of the day.
Wednesday evening we begin the journey for our 2026 Foundation Class with our Information evening. We look forward to meeting the new families at this event.
Friday 5 September is our annual Fathers' Day Celebration morning. We look forward to as many of our Dads or very welcome 'substitutes' joining us for the morning.
Thanks again for a wonderful week.
God Bless
