Assistant Principal

Julie Ryan- Year 9 & 10

Our Year 10 students recently took part in a highly successful Work Experience Preparation Day. This day was designed to ensure all students feel confident and supported as they head into their work experience later this term. Highlights included presentations from a range of industry guest speakers, who shared valuable insights into their career paths and the diverse opportunities available after school. A special ‘Workforce Ready’ presentation gave students practical strategies to navigate new environments, seek support when needed, and understand their rights and responsibilities in the workplace.

Students also completed several essential preparation tasks, including their compulsory OHS certificates, Career Action Plans, and updates to their resumes and cover letters. The day concluded with an informative session from the Year 10 team outlining clear expectations for the upcoming Work Experience week. We commend our students for their maturity and engagement throughout the day. I would like to thank our Careers Leader Jade Charalambous for her work in the design and organisation of such a valuable day for our students.

Both Year 9 and 10 students have Semester 1 exams this week which are an important opportunity to demonstrate their learning over the semester and to practice preparation for exams as well as experiencing exam conditions.

Year 9 Exam Schedule:

  • Tuesday 3rd June: English
  • Wednesday 4th June: Mathematics

(Year 9 students attend regular classes outside of their exam sessions)

Year 10 Exam Schedule:

  • Monday 2nd June: English/EAL
  • Tuesday 3rd June: Humanities
  • Wednesday 4th June: Science
  • Thursday 5th June: Mathematics

(Year 10 students are only required onsite for their exams and should use the remainder of the time for study and revision at home)

Attendance at all exams is compulsory.

Finally, as we head into the colder months, a reminder about uniform expectations. Students are not permitted to wear non-uniform items such as hoodies, which will be confiscated if worn. We ask for your continued support in maintaining our college’s high standards of presentation and pride.

We are proud of the way our students are approaching their learning and future planning with focus and optimism. Thank you for your ongoing support of our Middle School community.
