Careers Corner

The Year 7 Badano students have been working on their Career lessons at the beginning of Term 2. Students have gained an understanding of their own individual strengths and interests, building their self-identity, and identifying Gender stereotypes when selecting careers.
What Are Gender Stereotypes?
Gender stereotypes are assumptions about what boys and girls should do based on their gender. For example, some people might think only boys should be engineers or only girls should become nurses. These ideas are outdated—and they are holding people back from doing what they truly love.
Careers Don’t Have a Gender
The truth is every job is for everyone. Girls can be pilots, scientists, and computer programmers. Boys can be teachers, fashion designers, and nurses. What matters most is your passion and your skills—not your gender.
At St Monica’s College, Epping, we believe that career education should open doors for all students. That is why we are encouraging everyone to explore a wide range of career paths. Whether you dream of building robots, writing books, caring for animals, or designing video games.
