Getting Ready for Exams : The Basics
Your School Library is a great place to study, full of resources and assistance.
As well as these, we have the Study Centre (DSC) and After School Homework (DRC) to help you prepare.
However, if you find you can not get to your campus Library, we have some great tips below to help you to get ready for exams.
Manage Your Study Environment:
Make sure your desk/workstation is set to give you the best application and time efficiency possible.
Be sure:
You have good lighting, good ventilation and a comfortable chair
A big enough desk/workstation with adequate storage and shelving
You are away from any distractions and noise (ie: television, computer/internet, and especially the mobile phone!)
Manage Your Body:
Simply put, eat well and exercise regularly…. even just going for a regular walk can make a big difference!
Manage Your Availability to Others:
Do not let mobile phones, emails and other things get in the way of good study routines.
You CAN find BALANCE between study, work, family, TV and friends.
Manage Study Time with your Peers:
Studying with your peers can be a great advantage. Remember to stay on track, stick to your routine, but respect your peers' routine too.
A good desk/workstation can make the difference between good marks and great marks. Organisation and routine are key factors to study success.
Be sure to encourage yourself along the way!
