Can we Help your Family?

From knowing about different types of funding and support; what is going on in the school; access to food, uniform and stationery items; being able to offer different payment methods; there are many ways the school office team can assist, link you in with other staff and offer support to you and your family.  Please contact Melissa, Jen or Annie for an informal, confidential chat on 9876 3289 or kalinda.ps@education.vic.gov.au.

Market Day

Our 5/6 students have been busily building their stalls for Market Day, which is being held during school time on Wednesday, the 18th of June, between recess and lunchtime.

Every student here at Kalinda will have a chance to visit Market Day, where they can pay to play games, win prizes and buy products designed, made and marketed by our very own Kalinda Kids.  Items will range in price from 50 cents to a couple of dollars, and this year we are running this as a cashless event.

People will need a Kalinda Cash Card to purchase items at a stall.

The cash cards are $5 each, and we recommend a limit of no more than 2 cards ($10) per student from Foundation – Grade 2.  The limit for older students is 3 cards ($15).  Cash cards are available for pre-purchase on QKR until Tuesday, the 17th of June.

The cash card is marked into 10, 50-cent segments, and will have the student’s name and class printed on the back.  Cashcards will be delivered to your child’s classroom teacher on Wednesday morning, prior to the Market Day event.

If your child doesn’t spend the full amount on their card, and has some change remaining, their card will be placed in the draw for a free lunch order (lunch item, snack and drink).  On the event of a full card not being spent, this money will be refunded to your family’s school account on Cases.

The 5/6 students are very excited to see how their products sell on the day and are looking forward to deciding what their profits are going to be used for.

We hope you and your family can support this event.

LOST PROPERTY, lost jumpers, lost drinkbottles, balls and lost marbles

We are currently drowning in a large number of unnamed items of clothing! If it does not have a name on it, we cannot get it back to you. Anything that comes to school - squishee toys, lunch boxes, footballs, Pokémon cards and folders - should be named. If it is really special, it probably should stay at home, or on the teacher's desk during lunch or recess. Please ensure every item of clothing has at least your child's surname on it so we can get it back to them.

Working with children's checks is now going cardless.

You will be able to upload it to your digital wallet or print a paper copy. You will not receive a plastic card in the mail anymore. A reminder that you will need it every time you come to assist at Kalinda.

Payment plans and different payment options

There are lots of different payment options available, but Compass limits us to offering one option to all families.  If paying for an event over several weeks, or in smaller payments, suits your circumstances better, we are happy to make this available to you.
