Children's Int. Film Festival

Children's International Film Festival
We’re excited to let you know that from 7 June to 20 July, the Children’s International Film Festival (CHIFF) is lighting up the big screen with the very best new children's films from around the world! This year’s program is packed with wild adventures and heartwarming tales — from cats, monkeys, penguins and bats to tooth fairies and even mutant zombie zoo animals! There’s also a magical new retelling of the classic Bambi story.
Families can look forward to the return of beloved characters like The Moomins, Ernest & Celestine, The Elfkins, and the swashbuckling Captain Sabertooth. Plus, in celebration of their 40th anniversaries, we’ll be revisiting family favourites Joe Dante’s Explorers and Tim Burton’s Pee-wee’s Big Adventure.
CHIFF has something for everyone — from tiny first-time moviegoers to young film buffs (and parents too!).
🎟️ Special news for Newlands families! We have 8 festival tickets to give away! Winners will be announced during assembly, so keep your fingers crossed!

We’re also thrilled to share that the festival will be screening a film fully in Spanish! 🎥✨ “Norbert” is a heartwarming story that celebrates friendship, adventure and believing in yourself. The film will be shown on 21 June at 2:15pm, offering a wonderful opportunity for our Spanish-speaking families — and those learning the language — to enjoy a movie in Spanish on the big screen. A fantastic way to connect with language and culture through film!
