School Council

Early arrivers to this week’s meeting were given the opportunity to try out their grade 5/6 level maths skills with some multi-digit multiplication facts on fire. One minute to answer questions like 347 X 542. Not an easy task to dive into if you haven’t been practicing. Aggie proved to be the numbers whiz of the group completing 4 questions in 60 seconds. Would you believe the goal is 6!!!
We moved into the business of the meeting and had some great discussions led by the Principal’s report and all the sub committee minutes from the past month. We learned that planning for the fete is in full swing, planting along Murphy st was about to begin and the new wellbeing garden on Murphy Street is taking shape. The challenges OSHC faces in caring for up to 160 students of an afternoon and all the great ideas and activities being led by the Spanish sub-committee.
We also approved several upcoming activities including the 3/4 and 5/6 camps coming up on terms 3 and 4 respectively. More details will be coming out about them soon.
At the conclusion of the meeting Luke tried his hand at a multi-digit multiplication facts on fire and also answered 4 questions – keep on practicing Luke!
