Cross Country Divisions

Last Tuesday, eight of our amazing Newlands students represented the school at the Cross Country Division Championships held at Banyule Reserve. In tough conditions – cold winds and steady rain – Ramona, Isabel, Marlo, Harvey, Ari, Archie, Paxton and Reuben MP showed outstanding determination and grit.

We are incredibly proud of how all our students gave their best and demonstrated resilience in such challenging weather. They are a true inspiration for the rest of our school community, showing what it means to be courageous and committed.

Marlo finished 6th in his category and Paxton placed 12th – a fantastic result that sees both boys qualifying for the next stage: the Cross Country Regionals. Congratulations!

Unfortunately, Reuben MP was unable to finish his race due to a prior injury. Despite this, we want to acknowledge his strength and resilience. Just turning up and pushing through discomfort to even start the race showed incredible character and determination – something we deeply admire and value.

To all our runners – well done! You’ve made Newlands proud. The whole community is behind you and we’ll be cheering the two qualifiers at Regionals.

¡Vamos Newlands!
