Year 5/6 Writing Workshop with Author Jacqueline Harvey

Last week, a group of our Year 5/6 students had the exciting opportunity to take part in an all-day online writing workshop with well-known children’s author Jacqueline Harvey. The workshop, 'How to Write a Mystery', was designed for our keen authors and focused on developing characters, setting, dialogue, and plot — all through the lens of mystery and adventure. The students were engaged and inspired throughout the day and absolutely loved the experience. It was a wonderful chance for them to build their writing skills and creative confidence!

Here is what Isaac had to say about the day: "I had so much fun in the writing workshop. I would highly recommend this program for young mystery writers. Learning over Zoom was good because everyone had their own space and could take turns speaking and sharing their ideas. I will never, ever run out of ideas for my writing!"

Basketball Courts Officially Opened

Our community is absolutely thrilled with the opening of our basketball courts—now with a roof overhead! Rainy days are no longer a problem, and best of all, assembly no longer needs to be cancelled due to wet weather!

It's a wonderful step forward for our school, and we’re so grateful for this new all-weather space that benefits both sports and school gatherings.

 RHYTHM WORKS INCURSION

Rhythm Works Team from Music Aviva perform two shows at school for us. Kevin and Elijah demonstrated their skill on bass guitar, vibraphone and boom whackers, plus lots of different percussion instruments in an amazing interactive performance. We learned about building musical pictures and composing music with found objects. What a great show!
