Volunteering at SGPS
We greatly value the numerous volunteers who offer their time to support our school. Our Volunteers Policy outlines our school's legal obligations, and our commitment to ensuring that Spring Gully Primary School is a child safe environment. We require volunteers to obtain a Volunteer Working with Children Clearance and display their valid card at the office in the following circumstances:
Volunteers who are not parent/family members of any student at the school if they are engaged in child-related work regardless of whether they are being supervised.
Parent/family volunteers who are assisting with any classroom or school activities involving direct contact with children in circumstances where the volunteer’s child is not participating, or does not ordinarily participate in, the activity.
Parent/family volunteers who assist with excursions (including swimming), camps and similar events, regardless of whether their own child is participating or not.
Parent/family volunteers who regularly assist in school activities, regardless of whether their own child is participating or not
Your Volunteer WWCC only needs to be shown once, not each time you volunteer.
Volunteer Working with Children Clearances are free and can be applied for online - https://service.vic.gov.au/services/working-with-children
