Principal's News

Dear Families and Friends of Trinity Primary School,
We have finally come to the end of Term 2 and looking back at all that we have achieved together provides a great sense of satisfaction and pride. Of course, when you put over 200 children together there are bound to be some interesting challenges and the inevitable ups and downs along the way and so I thank you for your ongoing suport of the staff, who I can guarantee are always doing their best to provide a positive yet challenging learning environment for your children. A reminder that school will conclude at 1:45pm tomorrow with our final school assembly in the MPR from 1:15pm. I hope that as many of you as possible are able to join us as we farewell each other until next term.
We look forward to Term 3 and all that it will bring and in particular the School Art Show which promises to be a great exhibition of the amazing artwork our children have been doing with Ms Denise. The theme of this year's artshow is "Trinity in Bloom" which ties in perfectly with the beginning of Spring and will showcase the colours and diversity of our school community. Next term we will also be holding our Parent, Teacher and child conversations as well as celebrating Book Week which we know is always a highlight of the school year.
As always my message to our families is to enjoy some added time together these school holidays without the usual pressures of school lunches, uniforms and 'getting to school on time'. I look forward to those smiling faces at the Kent Street gate on Monday 21st July.

School Advisory Committee - (SAC)
Thankyou to the members of the SAC who met this week to look at a number of important school items and to assist in sharing relevant feedback, ideas and plans for how to work together for the benefit of each of our children and of course our school community as a whole. The parent membership of this group is an essential part of the partnership between home and school and provides a significant parent voice to our decision making processes related to important school matters. Parents are encouraged to reach out to our SAC Members at anytime to provide feedback for the group.
This Year's Chairperson is Lisa Vizard, our Secretary is Melissa Jennings and our other parent reps are Amanda Theums and Ruwen Moodley. They will join Mr Ru and myself to meet regularly throughout the year.
Below are the key areas of work for the SAC Team.
- Promoting the school’s Catholic ethos and culture
- Articulating and enacting the School’s vision and mission
- Promoting faith formation and development
- Capital resource planning and maintenance
- Disseminating information about the School in accordance with the SAC Terms of Reference
- Implementing School policies as required
- Supporting and communicating School and parish matters, including the School annual report
- Giving advice on issues such as enrolments, School improvement plans and enrolment trends
- Engaging in discussion about the annual School budget and other financial matters
- Giving advice about the school Master Plan
Building Project Update
Our fortnightly Architect meetings are going well as we begin to look at some of the design elements of the project. Last week the architects presented the current plans to the staff for their feedback and discussion. I also took the SAC committee through the plans and will continue to share the progress with them for further parent feedback. The Form Follows Faith aspect of the process will see us try to incorporate some reference to the history of Trinity, in particular our Ignatian traditions and of course the incorporation of the three schools, St James, St Ignatius and St John the Evangelist.
