Bad Google review pulled by customer in under one hour

Responding to negative Google Reviews is always a fine balancing act between defending professionally or going on the offensive strategically.

 

Last week, when FN Maitland (NSW) received a misleading one-star review from a tenant who had been terminated by NCAT for not paying rent, the office asked NSO for advice on an appropriate response.

 

After due consideration, a response was agreed that highlighted the humanity with which the tenants had been treated, and the inappropriateness of their review. The network response also highlighted how the tenant’s review served as a red flag to any future agent who may consider an application.

 

When offices respond to Google Reviews, the reviewer receives a notification. So, within an hour of NSO posting the agreed response on FN Maitland’s behalf, the customer decided it was in her better interests to remove her review – negating the impact of her one star review on the agency’s overall rating.
