Group 1

As we come to the end of Semester 1, we are so proud of the incredible growth and development of our wonderful Group 1 learners. Our three-year-old program is designed to support each child as they take their first steps into a structured learning environment—and what an amazing journey it has been so far!

This semester, the children have focused on becoming confident learners by building a strong sense of security and familiarity with their classroom, routines, and educators. The class are now beginning to understand and independently follow their daily routines using visual schedules and predictable structures.

Social communication and interaction have been key focus areas in Group 1. Through small-group activities, shared play experiences, and turn-taking games, the children are learning how to connect with peers and adults. We’ve seen wonderful moments of children initiating greetings, exchanging pictures and sharing enjoyment during group music and movement sessions. These are exciting and meaningful milestones in each child’s development.

Independence is emerging in so many ways—from packing away toys, to finding their own belongings, to sitting at the table for snack with increasing confidence. With the use of structured teaching strategies, visual supports, and consistent adult modelling, the children are developing a greater sense of autonomy and pride in completing familiar tasks.

We would like to thank all our families for their ongoing support and collaboration. It is a joy to be part of your child’s learning journey, and we look forward to an exciting and enriching Semester 2.

Warm regards,

Dibbie and Janelle
