Compost Cup

At our whole school assembly on Monday, Claire and Isla announced that we will be looking for a Compost Champion for Term 4. Each week, if a classroom's compost bin has no items in it that should not be there, that class will earn a sticker to put on their classroom chart.

The classroom with the most stickers at the end of the term will be crowned the ‘Compost Champions’ and will receive the Compost Cup! This will be a fun way to finish off a very busy year of caring for our environment.

Responsible disposal of e-waste

Monday 14th October was International e-waste day. Electronic waste (or ‘e-waste’) is any item with a power cord or battery. E-waste should not be placed into any bin. It can be disposed of for free using your council annual hard waste collection or taken to a waste transfer station for disposal (a small fee may apply). Batteries should never be placed into landfill bins, as they can start fires in collection trucks and leach harmful chemicals into the environment. Batteries can be taken to Aldi, Woolworths, Officeworks and Bunnings stores for recycling.
