Dear Parents and Carers,
As we conclude Term 3, it’s the perfect time to reflect on a vibrant and memorable term where community spirit, learning, and celebration took center stage. At StMM’s, we often talk about being ‘a great community’—but what does that truly mean? A great community provides a sense of belonging, support, and collective identity. It’s about fostering relationships, cooperation, and the willingness to give time, skills, and resources to support one another.
Thank you to all those who have consistently given their time and support throughout term three. I look forward to building on this strength in term four.
The term began with a heartwarming Grandparents’ Day, where students proudly welcomed their grandparents into our school. It was a joy to witness the love shared across generations, as grandparents toured classrooms, participated in activities, and shared stories with their grandchildren.
Our Father’s Day Liturgy and Morning Tea was another highlight. The excitement in the air was palpable as students enjoyed having their fathers and father figures spend time at school. It was a beautiful opportunity to appreciate the essential role they play in our children’s lives.
Book Week brought the school alive with imagination and enthusiasm. Our Book Fair and Book Parade saw students dress up as their favourite literary characters, creating an unforgettable celebration of reading. The funds raised from the Book Fair will support the addition of valuable resources to our library, further nurturing our students' love of literature.
Science Week ignited curiosity and creativity. Students engaged in hands-on experiments that sparked a deeper understanding of scientific concepts. It was a week filled with discovery, showcasing the students’ passion for learning and innovation.
A special thank you to all who attended the Maths Open Classrooms. It was a privilege to see parents and carers engaging in their children’s learning journey. The classrooms were full of problem-solving, critical thinking, and excitement for maths. We hope you gained insight into how maths is taught and how it fosters both challenge and fun.
We are incredibly proud of our students who took part in the STEM MAD competition. Their innovative project earned them the top spot and now our team is headed to the Nationals in Brisbane in term four. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their creativity and STEM skills on a national level.
Term three also saw the excitement of excursions. Students had the opportunity to step outside the classroom and learn through real-world experiences. Whether it was visiting historical sites, museums, or participating in outdoor education activities, these excursions enriched their understanding of the world and deepened their learning. Thank you to the parents who were able to assist making the experiences memorable for the students.
None of these incredible events would have been possible without the tireless efforts of our staff. Their dedication to providing an engaging and supportive learning environment is truly inspiring. From planning exciting lessons to coordinating extracurricular activities and ensuring the well-being of every child, they have gone above and beyond.
As we look ahead to term four, I am grateful for the continued involvement of our parent community. Your support and participation make these moments of joy and learning possible.
I wish everyone a restful break and look forward to seeing our community return refreshed and ready for another great term.
Kind Regards,
Grace
