News and Information from Secondary
At the moment, our secondary students are engaging in an exciting and creative project – building life-size sculptures out of packing tape! This hands-on challenge encourages students to create sculptures that either tell a story or evoke a powerful emotion. Currently midway through the design process, they are tackling the complexities of crafting joints, such as elbows and knees, and experimenting with different techniques to bring their ideas to life. Once completed, these impressive sculptures will be displayed around the school, allowing everyone to appreciate their hard work and creativity.
In addition to their artistic endeavours, secondary students have been exploring the theme of generosity. As part of this learning experience, all students took on the responsibility of leading 15-minute devotions with groups of primary students. The variety and depth of these devotions were truly impressive, each one reflecting different focuses and perspectives. We were particularly proud of the courage and resilience shown by our students, many of whom stepped out of their comfort zones to lead these sessions. It has been a wonderful display of leadership and compassion, reinforcing the values we aim to instill in our students.
We look forward to seeing more growth and creativity from our students in the coming weeks!
What is 5 & 2?
It is a place for our secondary students to connect before the school day commences.
We all know the importance of a good breakfast (and how much teenagers eat!), so delicious fruit and snacks will be available to help start their day.
Commencing Thursday 12th September, 5 & 2 will be held every Thursday morning in the Secondary building.
On Thursday 26th September, the last day of term, students will have the opportunity to order a delicious hot pie or sausage roll for lunch from All Things Nice Bakery or a serve of hot chips from Charcoal Chicken!
Please note for students with dietary requirements: only the large sausage roll and hot chips are available in a gluten free option.
Order forms have been sent home with all students today, and copies are available from the school office.
All orders and payments (cash only please) must be returned by Friday 20th September (no late orders can be accepted).
On Thursday 26th September, our students will be having an end-of-term casual clothes day. Students in both Primary and Secondary are invited to wear casual clothes, with money raised going to the Children's Cancer Foundation. Please ensure that casual clothes are appropriate with fully enclosed shoes to provide protection. Cost is a gold coin donation.
