Congratulations to Emmett (6B) who made the Victorian State Hockey team earlier this year! What a fantastic achievement!

From Emmett:

This year I had the opportunity to try out for the SSV under 12 boys state hockey team. There was a long tryout process, with three trials, and you had to be successful in each one to get through to the next because they cut people out along the way. Once I had made the team, we had 12 training sessions at the state hockey Centre before the national tournament. The tournament was up in Cairns and we played each state once and we ended up coming fifth out of the seven states. It was a really fun and enjoyable experience and I made a lot of friends. And my hockey improved a lot too!

Congratulations to a number of our students who have recently represented Wales Street at both Division and Regional competitions!

Thanks to Michelle for coaching our 6 Grade 6 basketball team at Division this week. The team played their hardest and faced some tough opposition throughout the day. Well done team!!

Congratulations also to the 10 students who made it through to the Northern Regional Athletics event this week. We had students competing in a number of events including: 4x100 relay, 100m, Hurdles, 800m, Triple jump, High jump, Shot put and Discus. It was great to see our talented students putting their skills on display!

Kind regards
