Year 9 Pathway Classes - Mock Interviews

During Term 3 our Year 9 students have had presentations from Karen and Annee Hinton from McDonald’s Swan Hill. The purpose of these presentations was to prepare students for their Mock interviews. Annee spoke about green flags when going into a job interview.

  • Taking a copy of your resume and a cover letter
  • Time management
  • Good communication skills, it is ok to be nervous and to even explain to the person who is doing the interview that you are nervous.
  • Always have a question ready to ask!

We would like to thank Karen and Annee for giving up their time to present to our 4 classes.

Over the last couple of weeks the Year 9 students have also been preparing for their Mock interviews. Students have had to research different questions that they may get asked at a real life interview and have a cover letter and a resume for the mock job they have applied for. Mikayla from the Murray Mallee Learn Local Employment Network (MMLLEN) and Anna Steicke have been conducting these interviews and the level of professionalism from the students has been fantastic.

We would like to thank Mikayla for taking the time to assist with the mock interviews to prepare the students for the real world.

Our Year 11 & 12 students had the opportunity to visit CUC Mallee over the last couple of weeks to show them the fantastic facilities we have right here in Swan Hill. CUC Mallee is a dedicated learning and study space in Swan Hill that has been designed to provide regional people with the space and tools they need to create a vibrant and more prosperous future for themselves and their wider community.

Over the school holidays our Year 12 students will have the opportunity to study at the centre, Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm (Centre staff will be present at these times) across the two weeks for Victorian school holidays (September 23 – 26 and September 30 – October 3).

Students and Parent/Carers will need to complete a Young People and Carers Agreement Form to use the Centre, forms are located in the PCC and Year 12 study area.
