PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
MRS MICHELLE HAEUSLER - PRINCIPAL
Mrs Maria Salvo commenced her employment at MacKillop College on 29 January 1991; however, her teaching career commenced prior to this at Swan Hill High School. For 33 years, Maria has dedicated herself to teaching Italian within our institution and has been an integral member of our community throughout numerous transitions in leadership, curriculum development, construction projects, and the engagement of families. Throughout her career, Maria has held various leadership positions, including a tenure with the Catholic Education Office Ballarat as a Languages Leader, where she provided support to local schools and their language educators.
Maria has been an invaluable source of support to countless staff, students, and families over her 33 years, and her absence will be keenly felt as she embarks on her retirement at the conclusion of this term. Arrivederci, Signora Salvo; you will be greatly missed.
Parents and Guardians will receive a letter from me next week that will include information regarding Italian classes for Term 4 and 2025.
At the conclusion of this term, we bid farewell to Mrs Amanda Henson, Accounts and Administration Officer. Many parents and guardians have experienced the warmth of Amanda’s boundless energy and cheerful smile upon entering our front office. For nearly 15 years, Amanda has been one of the first individuals that visitors encounter. Over the years, her role has evolved, culminating in her recent appointment as Bus Coordinator.
Amanda is not retiring; rather, she is relocating to Queensland to embark on the next chapter of her life journey. We extend our best wishes to Amanda and will dearly miss her engaging stories and contagious laughter.
In term 4 we will welcome back to the staff Mrs Lori Rogers and new to our staff, Mrs Nicole Venter. Nicole arrives from South Africa during the school break with her husband Steven and their two children (4 and 1 years of age). We are excited to welcome Nicole and Steven to Swan Hill. They will require assistance to set up a house when they arrive. If you are able to support them with furniture, please make contact with me through my Personal Assistant, Ms Emma Webb on 5032 9771.
Spring is certainly with us, as the climate continually changes. As we end the term I wish all our community members that are participating in sporting finals all the best, and I hope that everyone has a relaxing school break.
Term 4 begins on Monday 7th October, after we change our clocks for daylights savings.
