(Year 3 to Year 6)

Student Leadership at St Helena’s

St Helena’s Catholic Primary School strives to produce students who can think independently and use their initiative to solve problems. We value and promote student voice and engagement. The school is committed to providing pathways for students to develop their leadership skills in authentic and engaging ways, taking on various leadership roles across the school.

Year 6 is a time for all students to continue developing their leadership skills. At St Helena’s we believe that all students in Year 6 are leaders – they role model to the rest of the school what it means to be a St Helena’s student, always striving to do “Something Beautiful for God”.

At St Helena’s Catholic Primary School we value and promote student voice and engagement. The School is committed to providing pathways for students to develop their leadership skills in authentic and engaging ways, taking on various leadership roles across the School.

Student Leaders are representatives of the School in both the modelling of standards for their peers and younger students, as well as the planning and development of activities that contribute to building the School community.

Over the next few weeks our Year 5 students will begin the process for nominating and running for the following formal students leadership positions:

  • 2025 Head Boy and Head Girl
  • 2025 Deputy Head Boy & Deputy Head Girl
  • 2025 Faction Captains

Students who do not obtain one of the named roles above will have the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their leadership skills through the creation of Student Ministry Teams in 2025. In the final year of primary school, students participate in leadership formation activities and initiatives. This practice is aimed at encouraging students to reflect on, and further develop their leadership skills.
