Year 11 2025 Subject Selection

Attention all Year 10 students and families! Our Year 11 2025 Subject Selection Package has now been sent to you via Direqt Message. Although it may seem far off before you enter Year 11, it always arrives sooner than expected! This package details all pathway offerings and the 45 different courses available in Year 11 2025, along with the prerequisites required in Year 10 to enter these courses. With Semester One exams commencing in Week 8 of this term, now is a great time to review courses of interest and set goals for the upcoming examination period. You will have approximately three months to explore all the information before submitting preferences at the beginning of Term 3 for subject selection.

Year 10 Information Night

On Monday 27 May from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm, we warmly welcome all Year 10 students and their families to our Information Evening, where we will be able to provide further information regarding the subject selection process here at St George’s. Until then, I encourage full exploration of the subject selection package to begin learning about the many different options and pathways available to you. It is an exciting process, and we look forward to supporting you through it.

New Science Literacy NAPLAN

The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) has released an exciting opportunity for Year 10 students to participate in a new Science Literacy NAPLAN assessment. The School has decided to use this opportunity to provide excellent metrics of our science inquiry and development skills to better support student results and pathway optimisation throughout science. This assessment will not have any academic weight for students' reporting, nor will it impact subject selection processes. Students will be completing the assessment during their double science period on the morning of Wednesday, 8 May.
