Introducing School TV!

St George’s is pleased and excited to announce an additional resource for parents, students and staff - St George’s School TV.

This is an exceptional resource that provides our community with a range of resources to help with mental health, social media issues, exam nerves, diet and nutrition, and so much more. The service was devised by renowned child and adolescent psychologist Dr Michael Carr-Gregg and brings together specialists, articles, fact sheets, videos and so many resources, websites and APPs related to a diverse array of specific health and wellbeing topics. All resources have been viewed and authenticated by trained professionals and I will update the library of resources each week.

You can find School TV via our school website: TAKE A LOOK AT SCHOOL TV

Key Events

I may need to come up with a better opening line than “It has been a busy start to Term Two’’ - but it has.

The Year 10 & 11 River Cruise was a wonderful success, with a total of 154 students attending. The students dance and sung the night away, as did the staff who joined Head of Year 11 & 12 Mr Tim Hayward and Head of Year 9 & 10 Mr Conrad Sloan for an evening on the dance floor. Thank you to everyone, staff and students, for their contribution to a successful night. The crew of the Crystal Swan had nothing but praise for our school.

St George’s Day is another key event on the calendar, as we celebrate our patron’s day. St George’s Cathedral was a sight to behold – with a sea of red blazers creating a wonderful image for the Archbishop of Perth, Kay Goldsworthy who led the service. Congratulations to Meg Docherty and Ben Humphreys on receiving the Junior and Senior Spirit of St George’s awards. The fact that these come from a staff vote tells you all you need to know about the winners.

No sooner has the year started that we found ourselves celebrating the 100 Days to Go with our Year 12 cohort this week. Year 12 is a school year that can seem to fly by and it is important that we take the time to celebrate these milestones. I hope the T-shirts provide a lasting memory of their St George’s School journey.

On Wednesday, for Year 8 Wellbeing Day, students spent the day off campus with Ms Sephton and the Heads of House, completing a series of activities that promoted their wellbeing and togetherness as a year group. It was such a good day to be involved in.
