Year 8 Update

Commencing Term 2

Term 1 finished with an invigorating incursion run by Proactivity, Operation Energise. The Year 7 and 8 students had the chance to come together to finish the term with an outside fitness activity to appreciate the benefits of healthy exercise. It was lovely to see the amount of participation from all students involved.

The Year 8s came back from the holiday break in the groove to continue their classes and learning. They seemed to have jumped back into the swing of things with alacrity. It is important that the students maintain their good organisational habits throughout the year.

Our first wellbeing session for the term was Chapel which focused on ‘cherishing connections’ run by our lovely Chaplain Mrs Juers. This session was a wonderful opportunity for the students to learn the value of connections but also the importance of making an effort to forge new connections and maintain relationships. It was a great way for the cohort to practise these skills while learning something new about their peers.

Monday’s House Cross Country was an excellent day filled with spirit and participation from the whole school. It was fantastic to see the amount of Year 8s who participated and won ribbons! Congratulations to Mylie F (below second right) for winning the Year 8 Level Champion Medal representing Lloyd house.

This term our Quærite Wellbeing Program will incorporate some sessions on Study Skills. We will be fortunate to have Ms Whelan join the Year 8s to share her expertise in these sessions. I know that the students will find these sessions useful.

I look forward to a successful term ahead.
