Year 7 Update

We kicked off Term Two on a high note with our House Cross Country event, and we were incredibly fortunate with the beautiful weather that accompanied us. It was fantastic to see our students showcasing their athleticism and team spirit.

This term will introduce new opportunities for our students to engage in wellbeing sessions focused on mental health awareness and coping strategies. Through these sessions, students will learn valuable skills for managing stress, building resilience, and seeking support when needed. We will also delve into the concept of growth mindset, encouraging students to embrace challenges, learn from setbacks, and cultivate a positive attitude towards learning and personal development. Furthermore, we will explore common thinking traps that can hinder progress and wellbeing, empowering our students to recognise and overcome these obstacles effectively.

Our key word for the term is: 'Leaping.' We encourage our students to embrace this word in various ways. 'Leaping' can symbolise seizing new opportunities, taking confident strides in an environment where students feel comfortable, and leaping for joy as they achieve milestones and personal growth. Leaping goes beyond physical leaps, but also leaps in personal development, creativity, leadership, understanding and wellness. It is wonderful to see the confidence of our Year 7 students blossom as they become more willing to leap to opportunities. We look forward to exploring all the exciting associations that come with this word throughout the term.
