Year 9 Camp
The first term for our Year 9 cohort was filled with a variety of opportunities to develop connections with their fellow students and their teachers.
The Year 9 Camp held at Phillip Island was the final part of their formalised onboarding program and can only be described as a resounding success.
Students had the opportunity to be in cabins with students from other houses, activity groups with those in other Home Groups / Core Classes as well as the chance to spend extended time with a range of teachers.
We saw students really extend beyond their comfort zone, whether it be building a raft (and watching it sink immediately) or climbing crates, the high ropes course or even just eating new and unusual food. It was wonderful to see so many students trying something new.
We were blessed with the perfect weather (cool, but sunny) and while the first night there were a few who had too much energy to go to bed at the designated 'lights out' time, for the most part their behaviour throughout the 3 days was exemplary.
I want to thank all the students for their unbridled enthusiasm, parents, for supporting these endeavours and lastly the teachers who worked tirelessly to ensure the event ran smoothly.
While the formal onboarding program is complete, we understand that many students still require further assistance and guidance as they navigate their way through the year, so please seek support from the teachers where necessary.
