School Captains Report

We have made it to the end of Term 1! In the past few weeks, our school community has certainly been busy with the completion of the swimming carnival, athletics carnival, open mics, bake sales, student club expo, and more! There has certainly been no shortage of opportunities for students to get involved and it’s been great to see such strong enthusiasm and participation.

Notably, on the 8th of March, we celebrated International Women’s Day with our second International Women’s Day High Tea. The atmosphere was lively as students, teachers, and alumni gathered in commemoration of the incredible achievements and contributions of women, both past and present. Yet, beyond indulging in delectable treats (which was certainly a highlight), this event served as a platform for meaningful discussions regarding gender equality and navigating life after high school.

We had the privilege of welcoming back a range of remarkable alumni who shared their inspiring stories, accomplishments and experiences with us. Their anecdotes not only provided guidance but also emphasised the importance of resilience and determination in overcoming challenges.

Being able to attend and host the International Women’s Day High Tea, was a truly memorable experience. It is events like these that remind us of the strength of solidarity and shared passion for advocating against harmful gender constructs and expectations that only serve to hold our society back.

Next term we have a lot of exciting things planned. So, be sure to keep an eye out for all the upcoming events!

Last, but not least, well done on successfully navigating through the challenges and achievements of this term. As we enter the school holidays, take some time for rest and relaxation, and engage in activities that bring you joy (excluding holiday homework, of course!). In this way, you’ll be more than prepared to take on whatever awaits you in Term 2!

Your School Captains,

Finlay, Wana, Trisha, and Vijval :)
