Principal's Report

As always term 1 was a busy one at SCHS and it is with great pleasure that I share with you some of the highlights and achievements that have marked our journey together over the past several weeks.

International Women's Day High Tea: We kicked off this term with a celebration of International Women's Day, a day dedicated to honouring the achievements and contributions of women around the world. Our school hosted a memorable High Tea event, where we were privileged to welcome back some of our distinguished alumni. It was an inspiring occasion, filled with powerful speeches and stories that left a lasting impact on all those present. The event served as a reminder of the importance of empowering and supporting the next generation of female leaders.

Year 9 Camp: One of the defining moments of this term was the Year 9 Camp, where our new students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a range of exciting outdoor activities while forging bonds with their peers and teachers. I am delighted to report that our students embraced the challenges of camp life with enthusiasm and resilience. It was heartening to see them settling in brilliantly, forming new friendships, and demonstrating their capacity for teamwork and leadership. I am confident that the experiences gained during this camp will serve as a foundation for their personal and academic growth in the years to come.

First Music Soiree: Music has always been an integral part of our school community, and this term was no exception. Our talented musicians took centre stage at our first Music Soiree of the year, showcasing their hard work and dedication to their craft. From soul-stirring solos to captivating ensemble performances, the evening was a testament to the creativity and talent that abound within our school. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the performers, as well as our dedicated music teachers, for their commitment to excellence.

Parent-Teacher Conferences: I would like to express my gratitude to all the parents and guardians who attended our recent Parent-Teacher Conferences at the very end of term 1, whether in person or online. These meetings provide invaluable opportunities for open communication and collaboration between home and school, ensuring that we are all working together to support the academic and personal development of our students. Your active involvement in your child's education is truly appreciated, and I encourage you to continue to engage with us as we strive to create the best possible learning environment for every student.

As we look ahead to the challenges and opportunities that await us in the coming term, let us do so with optimism, resilience, and a shared sense of purpose. Together, we will continue to uphold the values of respect, aspiration and contribution that define our school community.
