Heartwarming Moments: Sharing Chinese Tea Traditions with Loved Ones

On Wednesday, 15 November 2023, a group of Primary 2 students experienced the exquisite art of the Chinese Song Dynasty's tea culture. Witnessing the children experience 'dian cha' and craft their own tea was truly heartening. Each of them relished the tea they prepared, particularly Kai, who drank half a cup and then paused. With a thoughtful gesture, he poured the rest into his kettle, expressing his desire to share it with his parents at home. Following Kai's lead, Troy and Owen also filled their kettles to bring the delightful tea to their families.

Their genuine affection for their families was evident as they brewed more tea, each eager to gift their loved ones a taste of traditional Chinese tea. This act of sharing extended beyond the classroom as they diligently filled their water bottles, ensuring every drop of the cherished tea reached their homes. Their selflessness and devotion to their families were truly touching.

The Amazing Monarch Butterfly

As the conclusion of the second term approaches, students enrolled in Primary 3 are finalising their Information Text Project titled "The Amazing Monarch Butterfly."

The primary objective of an information text is to articulate information in a lucid and succinct manner. Information texts are written to provide facts, details, and data pertaining to a specific subject, with the overarching aim of enlightening and educating the audience. These textual compositions typically maintain objectivity, concentrating on furnishing precise and pertinent information while eschewing personal opinions or biases.

Initially, students engaged in an exploration of the life cycle of the monarch butterfly. Furthermore, they delved into the intricacies of the extraordinary phenomenon that is the monarch butterfly migration. Their learning process involved viewing educational videos, studying information texts, participating in group discussions, and culminating in the creation of a final project that is both visually vibrant and informatively substantive.

Numeracy Project Term 2

For the concluding task of the second term, a group of students in Primary 2 and 3 crafted a 3D project using recyclable materials. Focused on the theme of the four seasons, the students approached this assignment with immense enthusiasm.

Throughout the project, they delved into concepts such as basic shapes and fractions, alongside conducting interviews to explore their peers' hobbies across the four seasons. The gathered information was then skilfully represented in bar graphs, demonstrating the practical application of their numeracy learning within the context of a dynamic 3D project.
