We were very excited when Jayden dropped in for a visit last week.  In passing Jayden mentioned that he had had a pretty exciting year! Jayden is currently the State and National Campion for his division in Taekwondo.  Jayden selected to join the Australian Cadet National Team in July and in August he competed at the World Taekwondo Cadet Champtionships in Bosnia.  What an amazing effort Jayden.  Fingers crossed we might see you compete at the Olympics one day.

Meet Wizz: The new app teens are talking about

Discover Wizz, the latest app gaining popularity among teenagers and young adults. It's a social media platform designed for real-time global chat, similar to dating apps.

Users can swipe through profiles that show a person's photo, first name, age, location and interests.

Wizz uses an external age-verification tool to estimate age with AI technology when a selfie is uploaded so that people are matched with people of a similar age. However, it's important to know that the app can match adults with children, and some content is for mature audiences.

Social and Fundraising

Hello St Brigid’s Families,

We are so excited about our Colour Explosion Run for Fun tomorrow.  Our fundraising drive closes tomorrow - It's not too late to get some final sponsorship.

Colour Explosion Run4Fun will take place tomorrow at 2pm on the oval across the road with a fun obstacle course set up. Children are to come to school in casual sport clothes. Old clothes are good as they will get coloured.  Please remember if you want to get coloured wear a WHITE T-SHIRT.  If you DO NOT want to be coloured you must wear a BLACK t-shirt.  Each child will receive a colourful pair of sunglasses and headband on the day. Parents are more then welcome to come and watch or wear white yourself and join in on the fun! The run will conclude at 3:15pm and each child will be given a zooper dooper.

We are also very excited for the end of year Christmas Carols on Friday the 8th of December with some fun activities organised.

Christmas Family Fun Task

Merry Christmas Family Fun Activity

For the next few weeks of term we are asking families to create their own Christmas tree to decorate our school.

Because Christmas is the holiday that celebrates the birth of Christ, as a light in the dark world, the lit tree became a reminder of that light. The Christmas tree also represents the Tree of Life, commonly recognised as the most important tree in the garden of Eden.

The artwork can be a picture, painting or a sculpture (Three dimensional tree that stands alone). The materials you use can’t be purchased, you may however beg, steal (as long as you ask) or borrow the materials you need. You can use things you already have at home. The Christmas Trees are due the week beginning Monday 27th of November. This is so that all the trees can be displayed during the final days of term. All trees will need to be taken home by the children during the last few days of term, week 11.

Task rules

  • One Tree per family.
  • Recycled materials to be used.
  • The Christmas Tree can be any height/width of up to a maximum of 1 Metre. (remember you have to transport it to and from school)
  • 2D Tree images should be a maximum size A2 this is 420 x 594mm

Enjoy making your Christmas tree, we can’t wait to make St Brigid’s sparkle ready for Christmas.
