School Sport - Swimming

Swimming Tomorrow!

School swimming is on again tomorrow. Students and teachers will be heading to Werris Creek Swimming Pool for water confidence swimming sessions. Session times have changed slightly with travel time needing to be considered. A bus will pick us up at school at 10.30am and we will return to school by 12:30pm. Students have completed a swimming skills test and have been placed in suitable groups for both their confidence and ability levels.

What to bring:

Students will need the following items for our swimming sessions.

  • Swimmers
  • Rashie (sun protection shirt). An old tight t-shirt will do if you do not have a rash shirt.
  • Sunscreen - the school provides sunscreen. If your child needs a particular brand then please have them bring that with them in their swim bag.
  • Towel
  • Goggles - if preferred.
  • Thongs, slides or crocs. These are much easier to put on after swimming.

 Week 2 - Term 1 - 2024 - School Swimming

Students and teachers will be heading to Werris Creek Swimming Pool for water confidence swimming sessions. Our new Kindergarten students will be in the little pool only for this session. Session times have changed slightly from this term. A bus will pick us up at school at 11.30am and we will return to school by 1:30pm. Students will complete a dive test if they are wishing to dive at the school swimming carnival. The benefit of being at the Werris Creek Swimming Pool this year is that it has a deep end and diving blocks for race starts.

Swimming Carnival 2024

Our annual swimming carnival will be held on Thursday the 8th of February, 2024. This will be week 2 of Term 1. Our carnival time has changed for next year and is now a day carnival to be held during school hours. Buses will pick students up from school at 9am, enabling normal school drop off for all students. The carnival will start at approximately 9:30am and conclude by 2:30pm. Students will then be brought back to school for normal afternoon travel arrangements. We would love as many parents to attend as possible and will still need volunteers to make the running of our carnival a success for our students.

Carnival Event Nominations

Nominations and entries for our school carnival will go up on the Compass portal this week. This will greatly assist me in organising the carnival so quickly after school begins. All Kindergarten students will participate in novelty activities in the little pool at their first carnival.
