2024 Class Books and Resources

Parents and carers are asked to ensure they carefully read and act upon the book lists that they have received. It is critically important that students have the textbooks and equipment they need at the very beginning of the year. This ensures a smooth start and means all students can make the most of their learning opportunities.

Due to copyright restrictions staff are not permitted to photocopy textbooks for students who haven’t managed to get theirs organised.

I would also ask parents to ensure students have a suitable BYOD computer, which has access to the required licensed Microsoft programs (i.e. Word, Powerpoint etc), as well as having a suitable battery life, as students are not allowed to charge their devices during classes. Information was sent home about these requirements but if you have further questions please contact the College.  The BYOD requirements can also be found on our website.

Parent Surveys

Recently parents have been given the opportunity to complete a survey to help guide the College’s commitment to continuous improvement. Thank you to the parents who made the effort to complete the survey; please be assured we do value your feedback. Yesterday the Class staff spent some time considering the feedback that had been provided. We have identified the need to do further work on fine-tuning our behaviour management processes and will be working towards this in 2024.

What was more surprising to us was that one-third of parents indicated that they did not feel they 'had received useful and timely feedback about my child’s progress'. We are aware of the considerable correspondence that goes home and the conversations we have with parents about their child’s progress and have realised we need to investigate what other feedback parents would find useful and are seeking. Once this is identified we can then look for ways to provide this within the constraints of teacher workloads.

I encourage parents to contact me via email if they have anything to contribute relating to the quantity and usefulness of the feedback you receive from the Class area or if you have suggestions as to how this may be improved.

Thank you to Parents and Carers

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our parents/carers who have been so supportive of the College and in particular the Class staff this year. It is fantastic that we can work together to maximise student achievement.

Thank you Staff

I would like to thank all staff, especially the Class staff, for the enormous effort they have put in this year. Their dedication to improving outcomes for the students is to be commended.  Whilst staff still have two more weeks of reviewing and planning for next year and will be conducting work placement visits, I hope they will all enjoy their well-earned summer break when it arrives!

Season Greetings

On behalf of the Class staff, I would like to wish students, their families and fellow staff at the College, a happy and safe festive season. We look forward to working with all of you again next year.
