December Reports and Meet the Teacher for 2024

Student Learning

As we are now past the ‘halfway’ mark of term four, our focus is on making plans for 2024. Currently staff are busy finalising class structures for 2024, placing students in their class cohorts based on student, parent and staff input. In the coming weeks, students will take part in a range of activities to prepare them for transition to their 2024 classes.

On Tuesday, 12th December between 11.30am – 12.50pm all Foundation to Year 5 students will meet their 2024 classmates and teachers. All students will be handed a notice that will state the class they are in, their teacher and the location of their classroom. Year 6 students attending a government secondary school will be at their state-wide transition day on this day.

Student Semester 2 reports will be ‘live’ on Compass from 3.30pm on Friday, 8th December. If your child is in Year 6, please make sure that you download all your child’s reports from Compass before they leave on the 20th of December. You will no longer have access to these reports after this date.

Christamas Concert and Slime Fun Run

We are looking forward to our upcoming Slime Fun Run (Friday, 1st December) and our

Christmas Concert (Thursday, 14th December between 5.00pm – 7.00pm). Please ensure that you read all the COMPASS feeds for the relevant information, and we look forward to seeing as many people as possible at these school events.

School Council - Thank you

Our final School Council meeting for 2023 will be held next month. I would like to express

my sincere thanks to our School Council members for their commitment to our school. The time and effort dedicated to this role often goes unrecognised and whilst rewarding, can also be challenging.

At Camelot Rise Primary School, we are fortunate to have group of people led superbly by our School Council President, Mr Keean Braybon.

Each of our councillors have performed a very important role to support our school purpose and in doing so has made an extremely valuable contribution to the educational outcomes of each of our students. The broad scope of work by School Council this year has included:

  • communicating the broad direction and vision of the school within our community
  • successfully applying for Shade Sail grants
  • applying for a Grant to upgrade our oval (we hope to hear the outcome of this before the end of the school year)
  • extended the contracts for Camp Australia and PSW
  • increasing the ‘Socials’ of our school via Facebook and Instagram
  • approving the annual budget and monitoring expenditure
  • acquiring feedback from the school community to inform decision making
  • developing, reviewing and updating school policies
  • overseeing the maintenance of the school’s grounds and facilities
  • reporting annually to the school community and to the DET
  • creating interest in our school in the wider community
  • enhancing communication within our school community
  • working through policies and ensuring we are strictly adhering to its principles

Each of our councillors has performed a very important role to support our school purpose and in doing so has made an extremely valuable contribution to the educational outcomes of each of our students.

Thank you to our 2023 School Councillors:

Parent members:

Keean Braybon (President), Carrie Foster (Vice President) Cindy Zhou (Treasurer), Dean Clinton, Bronwyn Miller, Madara Marasinghe, Xuan Li, Fiona Mackenzie, Shyam Gomatam, and Saugat Dey

Staff representatives: Matthew Coney, Ben Heys, Michelle Cohen-Beavis, Chrissie Sandford-Ricci and Hayley Lonsdale.

Congratulations

We are thrilled to share with our community that our Camelot Rise Primary School Out of School Care (OSHC) Service run by Camp Australia received a "KindiCare" Excellence Award for 2023!

Our service led by Denise and Annette is one of the 12% of Early Childhood Education and Care Services that received this award by having a 'KindiCare' rating of between 9.0 and 9.5.

These ratings are based on both community feedback and reviews and ratings from the families using this service as well as our Early Learning services' current and historical performance under the National Quality Framework.

This is a wonderful achievement, and we would like to congratulate Denise, Annette and the team at Camp Australia on this result.

It is great to know that this program just adds to the wonderful environment we have at Camelot Rise Primary School.

Final assembly of the year

One date that our community look forward to is the final assembly of the year because we farewell our grade six children for their final day of primary school after a 7-year journey.

The date and time for this is Tuesday 19th, December commencing at 9.15am.

At the assembly we will listen to the Year 6 graduates sing their farewell song, watch the Year 6 PowerPoint and celebrate the year we have had.

We look forward to this very special assembly.
