Hello from our teachers and students

Respect, Responsibility and Kindness

Hello from F/1T and Ms. Laura Trembath.

We have had a very exciting term with lots of different things happening. A couple of weeks ago we had swimming and this week we have been learning to use our scooters safely in PE class.

We loved going swimming at the Eaglehawk pool and the best part was going down the slide at the end of the week!

We wrote recounts about our swimming experiences and our favourite parts about the whole week.

Literacy

This week in Literacy we have been learning about persuasive texts. We read the book 'The Day the Crayons Quit'. We have been practicing saying our opinion on a topic and being able to provide a reason to support our opinion. We had to decide which crayon was our favourite from the story and decide how we would convince that crayon not to quit!

Numeracy

This week in Numeracy we have been learning about location, position and direction. We have been learning words that help us describe position and direction such as left, right, up, down, forwards and backwards. We have also talked about a compass and the directions of north, east, south and west. We read the book 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' and then we had to create our own maps to show the journey the character's went on. Our maps had to show the correct position of the places they went through and have arrows and lines to show direction.

Thank you for reading!
