Acting Principal’s Message

Mrs Kathlene Fenton

Dear Parents and Carers,

There’s just three more weeks left in the school year and it will continue to get busier as the weeks progress. Last week was certainly an exciting week at Sacred Heart students participate in Intensive Swimming every day. Despite the weather, swimming still went ahead and the children had an amazing time and certainly learnt a lot. Each day we were very lucky to have our two swimming instructors from Gunnedah. A big thank you to Katie Goddard, our sports co-ordinator for running a very successful week.

Farewell to Joe Dimech

Last Friday we farewelled Joe Dimech on his last day at Sacred Heart School. We have been very lucky to have had Joe come to our school on Thursday and Friday for the last 3 weeks to work in the Infants and Primary spaces. Joe has come to us from St Nicholas’ in Tamworth.

On Friday he told me how impressed he was by Sacred Heart, its students and staff. A big thank you to Joe for the time that he has spent at our school.

Year 3 Assembly Item

We will continue to hold Friday assembly this week. The students from Year 3 will be presenting. Please be aware that there will be no assembly on Friday in Weeks 9 and 10.

Year 6 Farewell

Next Monday 4th December our Year 6 students will be celebrating their graduation of their primary schooling at their Year 6 Farewell Dinner. Families have been invited to attend on the night. We wish our seven Year 6 students the best of luck for next year.

Whole School Presentation Day

Next Wednesday 6th December at 11:30am we invite family and friends to the Whole School Presentation Day. The ceremony will be an opportunity for our school community to celebrate student achievement in 2023. This will be followed by a light lunch held under the COLA for our invited guests, family and friends. We ask that all families bring a plate of food to share on the day. If there is enough food students will also be welcome to partake but please make sure that they also bring a packed lunch just in case.

A special mention to Gian Mendoza who celebrates his 12th birthday tomorrow, 28th November. We hope you have a great day!

Kind regards

Kathlene Fenton
