From the Principal

Dear families,

I hope this newsletter finds you well after the whirlwind of the Melbourne Cup public holiday and the unexpected storm that graced Ballarat last night. We trust that you all had an enjoyable and safe holiday and that your families managed to stay dry and secure during the rain, wind and lightning.

As it continues to heat up (Friday is meant to be over 30!) it's essential to remind everyone, especially our younger students, about the significance of wearing hats during outdoor activities. Sun safety is a top priority, and those wide-brimmed hats provide crucial protection from the sun's rays. Let's keep our children safe and sun-smart!

We're delighted to share that our F/1 and 1/2 students have had a fantastic time at their swimming lessons this week. It's been a different routine for them, but learning new skills, and building confidence in the pool is important learning. A big thank you to our dedicated staff who make these opportunities possible for our young learners.

2024 Foundation Transition Sessions

Next Tuesday we look forward to welcoming our 2024 Foundation students and their families to the St Patrick's community.

There are three opportunities for our Foundation students to get a feel of our school.

Tuesday 14th November: 9:30-10:30am (includes a parent information session inc. presentation by OSHC provider)

Tuesday 21st November: 9:30-10:30am (morning tea for parents)

Tuesday 28th November: 9:00-11:30am (whole school going up morning with 2024 classroom teachers).

Building Update

We are so very close to gaining occupancy of the next stage of the project. I've had many excited 3/4 students approach me this morning wondering when the move will happen...they can't wait! Assuming that all goes to plan with the building surveyor, we should be in early next week.

School Closure Days

A quick reminder that we will be closed on Friday 17th November for staff development.

Wishing you all the best for a great week ahead!

Kind regards,

Ben Shields
