Preps at the Farm
Prep students visited Myuna Farm in Doveton last Tuesday, 21 November. This excursion helped their learning through exposure to a farm, seeing the animals and learning about how food grows on farms.
At Myuna Farm we patted sheep and cows, and saw bunnies. We looked at a chicken and a rooster. We milked a goat called Pearl, the milk went in a bucket. We sat in train carriages for a bumpy ride. There were tonnes of fruit bats in the trees. Some flew and some had babies. There was a fun playground with swings. There were parrots and cockatoos making lots of noise when we ate lunch. There were so many animals like water buffalo and snakes. The baby goats jumped on me and ate my hat. I did not like all the walking. I did not like smelling all the poo. It was a very fun day. I wish I could go back with my family.
The Prep team would like to thank all of our fabulous parent helpers who came along for the fun!
Prep 2024 Transition
On Tuesday 14 November we had our 2024 Preps come in for a Literacy session. They read Wombat Stew with a Prep teacher and made their own stew with craft materials. The pre-school children loved being creative with what they were putting in the stew such as “gooey worms” and “chicken feathers”. It was lovely to have them here and see them engage in the lessons.
Our 2024 Preps will have their final transition session at school next week when they attend their Orientation Day on Friday.
