End of Term Update

As we reach our final newsletter for the term, it is clear just how busy and productive the past weeks have been. The term has certainly passed quickly, filled with a wide range of learning opportunities, achievements and experiences for our students. As a reminder, students will return to school on Wednesday 22 April 2026. I wish all families a safe and enjoyable break.

School Representation

Our students have continued to represent Inverell High School with pride across a variety of academic, cultural and sporting events. At the da Vinci Decathlon in Armidale, where 37 schools are competing, our Year 7 and 8 team delivered an outstanding performance, placing 3rd in Engineering and 1st in Mathematics. This is a tremendous achievement and a credit to their dedication and teamwork. At the time of writing, our Year 9 and 10 team are currently competing, and we wish them every success. We congratulate our Year 7 and 8 team on their exceptional efforts.

Our student leaders recently travelled to Government House in Sydney as part of the school’s Leadership Program. This was a valuable and memorable experience, and I would like to thank Mr Stewart for supporting and escorting our students throughout the trip.

Clontarf students also participated in their Senior Employment and Leadership Camp, held across Tamworth and Newcastle. Our students demonstrated outstanding leadership, taking on ambassador roles and representing not only Clontarf, but Inverell High School, with pride and professionalism.

Meanwhile, our Stars girls have returned from Grafton, where they competed in the Stars Netball and Beach Volleyball Championships. Our Stars Foundation girls came second overall, well done to our students. Their commitment and effort in representing the school at a high level is to be commended.

Closer to home, yesterday a Nine-a-Side Rugby League Gala Day was held by NSW RL, providing our students with the opportunity to compete in a positive and engaging environment. Our teams displayed excellent skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day.

Senior Half Yearly Examinations

As we conclude the term, our Year 11 and 12 students are undertaking examinations. These assessments are an important part of the learning process, allowing students to reflect on their progress, identify areas for growth, and refine their ability to respond to higher-order questions.

Thank You

I would like to thank our staff, students and community for their continued commitment to excellence. Have a safe and restful break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next term.
