A Successful Open Evening
There was a genuine sense of excitement and community on display at King’s College as we welcomed families to our Open Evening on Tuesday this week. With over 160 visitors representing 63 prospective students, the evening was a clear reflection of the growing interest in our College - particularly in our Prep and Year 7 entry points.
From the moment families arrived, they were warmly greeted and guided through the College by our outstanding student leaders. These students represented King’s with confidence and pride, and it was especially encouraging to receive such strong positive feedback about the calibre of our young people. They are, without doubt, one of our greatest strengths.
Across the campus, classrooms were open and alive with engaging displays of learning. Our teachers invested significant time and care in preparing their spaces, creating environments that were both welcoming and informative. Visitors had the opportunity to see firsthand the depth of learning and the strong relationships that underpin our classrooms.
Hospitality was also a highlight, with staff and students serving coffee and cooking sausages, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for families to connect and ask questions. Our Music team added to the vibrancy of the evening and showcased the rich co-curricular life of the College.
Events like Open Evening remind us that a school is far more than buildings and programs - it is a community. It was wonderful to see so many staff and students come together to serve, share, and celebrate what makes King’s College such a special place.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of the evening. We look forward to welcoming many of these families into our College community in the future. We encourage new families to complete the enrolment process, as places are already filling quickly for 2027.
Chapel Guest - Victor Claye
Last Friday at Senior School Chapel, students were treated to a powerful and memorable experience as guest artist Victor Claye shared both his music and his story.
Victor Claye is a Gospel Hip-Hop and Afrobeat artist. Born in Sierra Leone and raised in Australia after fleeing war and poverty, Victor brought a deeply authentic and moving perspective to his work. His journey is one of resilience, faith, and transformation and this was evident in every part of his presentation.
Students thoroughly enjoyed Victor’s high-energy performance, which combined Christian Rap with Afrobeat influences to create an engaging and contemporary worship experience. More than just music, however, Victor shared a message that resonated strongly with our students. He spoke about hope in the midst of hardship, discovering purpose, and the redeeming power of faith in Jesus.
His story challenged students to reflect on their own lives, encouraging them to persevere through difficulties and to anchor their identity in Christ. The combination of music and testimony left a lasting impact that will stay with many students.
We are grateful to Victor for visiting King’s College and for the encouragement and inspiration he brought to our Senior School.
Welcome to Our New PTFA Secretary
We are delighted to welcome Nadia Toprak as the new Secretary of the PTFA. Nadia is a valued member of our school community, with children in Kinder, Prep and Year 4, and brings both enthusiasm and a strong commitment to supporting the College. We look forward to the contribution she will make in this important role as the PTFA continues to strengthen connections between families and the school.
We would also like to sincerely thank Ang Hales for her faithful service as PTFA Secretary. Ang has made a significant contribution during her time in the role, and we are very grateful for the time, care and energy she has invested in supporting our community.

Harmony Day
Once again, we enjoyed celebrating Harmony Day on Thursday this week, and what a colourful day it was!
Many students proudly wore orange - the official colour of Harmony Day, representing diversity, mutual respect, and freedom of ideas. It was also wonderful to see an array of traditional clothing from different cultures and countries, along with outfits reflecting family heritage.
In classrooms and at home, students have been exploring their cultural backgrounds, asking parents and grandparents about where their families were born and the journeys that have led them to call Australia home. We were also treated to a delightful Irish dancing performance, and Junior students enjoyed fun games together during lunchtime.
Humanly speaking, Christians are a diverse group, coming from every nation, tribe, and people. The Bible reminds us that each person comes to Jesus Christ in the same way - by grace, through faith, and repentance. While the world often highlights differences such as race, background, social standing, or gender, these distinctions do not define our worth in God’s eyes.
Instead, we are called to embrace and even celebrate our differences, while “clothing ourselves with love”, which binds us together in perfect harmony. As a school community, this is a beautiful reminder that we are united in Christ, and that true harmony is found in living with love, respect, and a deep appreciation for one another.
