The Arts and Technologies

As we approach the end of Term 1, the Art and Technologies team would like to share the progress of our students.
In Junior Art, our Year 7 students are finishing their drawing unit, where they have explored line and tone in artmaking. Students were also introduced to ‘plein air’ drawing and enjoyed taking their drawing boards outside the classroom.
In Year 9, students completed a unit on the art movement of Surrealism and created their own Surrealist inspired artworks, expressing personal ideas, subconscious thoughts and dreamscapes.
At the senior level, Year 10 Photography students explored personal expression and visual storytelling through film photography. They have developed technical skills in using a film camera, as well as their visual language to interpret, document, and challenge viewpoints in the world around them.
In Year 11, our VCE Art Creative Practice students have just completed their drawing folio, exploring a range of techniques and media. They researched the practices of other artists for inspiration and created final artworks informed by their research and exploration. We are proud of the creativity, effort, and growth demonstrated by our students across all year levels this term and look forward to seeing how their ideas and artistic practices continue to develop.
From the Arts and Technology Teaching Team.
